{Abby's Art Show}
Abby's school had an art show on Thursday evening. The families were invited to come and if you wanted to, you could purchase the art they've done throughout the year to help support the school. I love this elementary school they always make everything so fun and family friendly! They had photo booths, cookies and art projects for the kids to do. It was fun and Abby was so excited to show us her art! :) we bought Abby's masterpiece for $1.00 (someday we won't be so poor ;) ) she was happy and satisfied, and that's what really matters!!
{Hiking at Cress Creek}
This was such a fun Friday Family Fun-day!!! This was also our first full day without daddy :( he left yesterday for Wisconsin. I was going crazy missing him and decided to keep us busy having fun to help make it a little easier, so when Abby got home from school we packed some sandwiches and drove out to this trail to try it for the first time, it was SUPER FUN, and we will definitely be going back this summer!! There was a sign at the beginning warning us of poison ivy and rattlesnakes. Of course Jace couldn't wait to get on the trail and looking for the ivy and snakes, while Abby asked if we could stop and say a little prayer that we would be safe and not find any snakes! :) I was glad we did not come across either on the trail, Jace was disappointed and by the end Abby was relaxed and enjoyed the hike. After the trail ended and we were back to the beginning we were all tired out! We came back to Rexburg, got some dinner, had a movie party, face timed daddy had family prayer and went to bed!! Such a fun day :) I'm so grateful I have these wonderful children to spend this life with and that help me prepare to be who I need to be for eternity! I love you all!!! :)
{Nielson Family Reunion and General Conference in Salt Lake! }
The kids and I went down on Thursday morning and spent the day together. We got to the hotel and got settled and tried to go down to the pool but it was closed for maintenance :( we were all disappointed to say the least!! So we decided to head out and explore the town and see what was around us. We found a toy store and all got to get a dollar toy. Abby was the only one that didn't get anything, she had a hard time finding anything she wanted. The boys shared and they all had fun. We got back to the hotel and played for a bit then we headed across the street for some dinner at IHOP...kids eat free!!! We all enjoyed our dinner, then it was back to the hotel for baths and bed!
Jace enjoying the new toys.
The next morning we met up with Uncle Todd, Aunt Christen, Addi, Leah and baby boy Nielson coming in July, and headed down to Temple Square. We rode the train that went from right by our hotel to down town Temple Square, soooo convenient and tons of fun!
In the afternoon we met up with Uncle Shawn, Aunt Melanie, Charity, Brigham, Bryson, Tylee and Brinlee and did more around Temple Square, went to eat, and then caught the train back to the hotel for swimming, pizza and meeting up with Uncle Brad, Aunt Tracy, Braeden, Aaliyah, Emmitt and baby Nielson coming in September. Daddy also met up with us this night and we all (all the brothers and their families) met together for a family meeting and prayer with everyone. It was so neat to feel the strength of everyone being together and the prayer that Uncle Shawn gave was so comforting and I felt the spirit so strong! I love our family and am so grateful for them!
The next day was Conference, I LOVE CONFERENCE!!! It was pretty hard to get much out of it when we were all together, but I'm still grateful we got to spend this time together! We went to a children's museum and met up with Grandma and Grandpa Philips, Uncle Elijah, Uncle Case, Aunt Shelby and baby Nielson coming in September. The kids LOVED it and had soooo much fun with cousins!
After the museum we met up with Grandma & Grandpa Nielson for lunch and then went back to the museum for a little bit. After everyone said their goodbyes to Grandpa and Grandma Nielson we all headed back to the hotel for the husbands to watch the Priesthood Session and then us girls went out shopping for awhile. It was such a good weekend spent with family and catching up with everyone!!
On Sunday we watched the first session at our hotel and kept Bryson, Tylee and Brinlee for Uncle Shawn and Aunt Melanie while they took Charity and Brigham to conference. After they got back we said goodbye and went to Great Grandma Dilingham's for lunch and the second session with Grandma and Grandpa Nielson. This was the first time the kids and I had met Great Grandma Dilingham. It was so neat to get to know more of the family!!
